Creating a Die Cut Window Card

Greetings die cut fans, today I am excited to share my first creation for Dies R Us  .  The cheery card features Sizzix's Geo Trio.    As I am always looking at new way to use my dies, I decided to try cutting my die in a "repeating" fashion to create multiple windows!   I was in a "purple' mood and chose purple shades for my 5 x 7 card, but you can easily adapt the card to any color or size. So lets get started.  Start by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 4 3/4 x 6 1/2. Die cut along one edge leaving a small border.   Re-position die leaving about the width on one hexagon and re-die cut as shown. below.  Re-position die and die cut to create the third window.  Move and die cut again to create the 4th window.   The resulting die cut is so pretty and lacy!  . Grab your card stock in 2 coordinating colors.  Choose one piece to mat your die cut piece.  Cut mat to 6 3/4 x 4 7/8.  From your second...

Winter Blues

Today I am excited to share my take on this month's Canvas Corp. Brands challenge.  This challenge might not fit those of you who has summer in February - you might think... But maybe you dream of visiting a cold country, or maybe you have done that already. Or you could be inspired by the colors in the moodboard.   I decided to play along with the colors and the theme. I love all the textures going on in this layout. I started off with a Canvas Corp Brands C Flute Kraft paper .   I slightly inked the edges using Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Ink.   I cut a my Canvas Corp Brands  Blue and Ivory Ticking paper to 10 1/2 inches square.  I then added a 6 x 10 1/2 inch piece of the Canvas Corp Brands Blue and Ivory Dot Reverse  aprroximately 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the Blue and Ivory Ticking paper. I edged the Reverse Dot paper with Canvas Corp Brands Jute Cord  , and then added my double matted photo and added m...
