Bird Greetings!

Hello!  Today I am sharing my challenge over at Turtle Soup and this month's Dare 2B Artzy Challenge ! This Month's Theme is Animals!!!!! Cindy has so many amazing animal stamps in the store!!!! I started with this amazing sketch from Bev at Turtle Soup. I rotated the sketch to fit my needs! and used the sketch as a focal point on my card! (All supplies are Dare 2B Artzy unless otherwise listed!) I started by using my Birds paper from the In Bloom Paper Pack as my card base. To create the background I added some coordinating cardstock from my stash.  I stamped the music notes from the Be Yourself Stamp set all over the cardstock using Versamark ink. I added the cutaway border strip from the Blue Sky Arzty Doodles paper and a punched border strip. To create the card's focal point I matted another piece of the Birds paper onto white cardstock and added jewels from my stash to the corners.   I then stamped my bird from the Be Yourself stamp set and used the Bir...

I love how versatile sketches! I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil, the Dare 2B Artzy 'Ink Blot" stamps and some good old fashioned ink splatters for the background.

US Capitol -Use Your Stash Challenge

Today I am sharing this layout I created for this month's mini crop at Turtle Soup.    This month I am challenging everyone to use their inks.  I chose to use my distress inks to recolor my papers to match my background papers. The background was a grungy dirty paper color while all the other papers had white accents.  So I used my Old Paper distress ink to recolor the white. Jump on over to Turtle Soup to play along!

Turtle Soup - Use your Stash Challenge

Today is my challenge day on the Turtle Soup Forum!  My  challenge was to be related to using your stash.  So I challenged every one to break out those 8x8 or 6x6 paper pads that you have been hoarding and use them for your layout.  I created mine using a Graphic 45 paper pad. I love Alex's face in this picture, he had begged most of the DC trip for astronaut ice cream.  When he finally got some at the Naval Acedemy, He wasn't too thrilled with it or to have his picture taken.

How to use a mask for inking

Today I am sharing my take on this week's sketch for Sketches in Thyme!  I also used this sketch to create my challenge for Scrapping Turtle's Mini Crop .  The sketch called for 3 photos but I replace 2 of the photos with tags and then instead of added a circle,  I used a cicrle as a mask  and inked around the circle.  I then added faux stitching along the circle outline.
