Creating Cards with Clear Scraps Stencils

IMG_5792wm

Hello!  Chris here and today I am super excited to share how I created this so cute stenciled greeting card using the Clear Scraps 5 x 9 Swirl Tree Layering Stencil.  This Love-ly card would be perfect for any anniversary, wedding or even Valentine's Day. The card was so fun and simple to create I even created a second Flowering card that could be used for any occasion.

The creation process is the same for either card.  You could even change the color of the leaves to create a fall Related card! So Let me show you how to create with your Clear Scraps 5 x 9 Swirl Tree Layering Stencil .

Start by cutting watercolor paper about 1/2 inch smaller than your card base. Secure your paper to your work surface. Lay your Clear Scraps 5 x 9 Swirl Tree Layering Stencil  over your paper.   Blend your brown inks over the bottom portion of the stencil as shown below.

Blending the multiple color inks adds extra dimension to your tree trunk.  Reposition the leaf portion of the stencil onto your paper. Blend green ink (or whatever your chosen leaf color) over stencil.

Your stenciled tree is complete.  Add a coordinating card stock mat and adhere to your card and the  you can send as is or add some cute embellishments like I did.

For the Love-ly Card I added some punched out hearts with some dimensional adhesive to make them stand out!  A few scrap tags and a jute bow and the card was complete.

For the Flowering tree I punched out some flower in two shades of card stock.  After adhering the flowers with dimensional adhesives, I added some liquid pearls to my flower centers.

Here is a last look at the card set! using the Clear Scraps 5 x 9 Swirl Tree Layering Stencil .
