Felt Happy Birthday Greeting

Today I am sharing my take on this month's Kreaxions/Just Imagine DT challenge.   To create this card used my #906 punch with the C insert to create the corner notches,  I then added some doodling, a hand written greeting and some felt flowers to finish off the card.

Lift Your Spirits Tag

Hello!  Today I would love to share this Tag I created using Dare 2B Artzy Stamps! I started by adding Gesso to my tag.  I then stamped the Cloud from the Lift Your Spirits stamp set with Versamark and embossing with white embossing powder. I then used Tim Holtz Distress crayons ( Peeled paint, Picket Fence, Chipped Sapphire) to create create the background, blending with a baby wipe. I then stamped the tiny balloon from the Hot Air Balloon set, using Tim Holtz Markers to color my stamp. ( you can see that stamping over the crayons works but isn't perfect.) I matted my tag onto Dare 2B Artzy Papers and added a coordinating ribbon. I stamped the Large balloon from the Hot Air Balloon Set on a piece of white cardstock and die cut the image using the Dare 2B Artzy coordinating dies.  ( I used Archival Ink here since I was using the Distress Markers) After coloring the image with Tim Holtz Distress Markers, I added the balloon to my tag. I then stamped my sen...

Butterfly Canvas

Hello!  Today I would like to share this canvas I created using Dare 2B Artzy Stamps and Artzy Doodle Papers! I started this project using a premade made (as in the text was already added) canvas that I picked up at Michaels. I first stamped the flower from the Tangle Jumpstart set a couple of times on scrap paper.  I cut those stamped images out to create some masks to use while stamping on my canvas. I then stamped the Flower from the Tangle Jumpstart onto my canvas, masking the flowers as needed to create the background. I chose to use Archival Ink since I knew I was going to be using some very wet watercolor inks.  I then painted my flowers using ColourArte's Twinkling H2Os.  I chose the Twinkling H2Os because they add transparent color that allowed that text to show through! Here is a close up of the flowers.   While my watercolors were still wet I added splatters of color all over the canvas.  I added my sentiment which was printed on p...

Art at the Capitol

Today I am sharing my take on this month's DT Sketch over at Turtle Soup.  As you can see I used the text and images as my focal points, adding additional photos to fit my needs! I love how versatile sketches! I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil, the Dare 2B Artzy 'Ink Blot" stamps and some good old fashioned ink splatters for the background.

For Someone Special

Today I am sharing this beautiful card I created for "Someone Special".  To create this card I use my #903 punch with the C insert to create those lovely corner on the card.  I then used the Star Template with the #311 punch and the A insert to creat the doily. I just love the reds, cream and pink in the card.   Hope you are inspired to get punching!

Dare 2B Artzy - June Challange

Good Morning!  Today I am sharing my take on this month's Dare 2B Artzy's Challenge!     This month's challenge theme is BLING!!!!!!!!!!!!   UM, I think I have some of that!!!!!! To create this card I started by marking the diagonal lines with PENCIL (the pen will come later) on a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than my finished card.  To make it easy I just used the width of my ruler. I then stamped the tiny flower from the Be Yourself Stamp set   using the Dare 2B Artzy Paradise Premium Ink .  I then used one of my journaling pens to go over the diagonal lines, erasing the pencil marks when done. I added coordinating sequins in the center of my flowers.  I matted the entire "card" Dare 2B Artzy's Artzy Doodles paper .  I created 2 banners from some scraps of the  Artzy Doodles paper and topped off the card with a bow and flower whose edges were inked with a Tim Holtz Distress Marker. I created my greet...

Dream Art Journal Page

Hello! Today I would like to share with you a page from my art journal! I use my art journal to try out different techniques and to record inspirational quotes for myself!  To start this page I first applied gesso to my entire journal page. I then stamped the "to catch your Dream" sentiment, the dream catcher and the feathers with Versamark, and then embossed with white embossing powder. I then added lots of gelatos to color the background.  (for reference I used yellow, metallic grey, metallic blueberry, iced pear, metallic melon, metallic mint, and metallic icing)  I blended all the colors with a baby wipe. I kept adding and blending colors until I was satisfied with the background. I then stamped the Dream Big sentiment using Dare 2B Artzy's Totally Black Ink.   I will tell you if I had to do this part over again I would stamp and emboss with black ink before I applied the gelatos, as gelatos are slippery to stamp on!!  I then a...
