one more Christmas Card

It's never to late to whip up a Christmas card. If it doesn't get sent this year you can be ahead of time for next year *wink*! This card was actually inspired by Tina on the KNK messageboard . SHe had asked me a few weeks ago about uses for an embossing pen. Here I used my embossing/watermark pad to create a holly watermark. But you could just as easily use your pen to color the stamp instead. I then added flock to the image. Yes I am a little addicted to flocking especially where Fluffles is concerned! My biggest flocking tip is to use a glue pen and start in small areas, and always start with the darker colors first. (I learned that the hard way a while back). so Meowy Christmas!

HI I am still here

This is where I have been. Sick kids abound at my house. This all started the first week of November. Alex was down for a week which they determined was an immune response to his H1N1 shot. Then the dog hurt his back and became paralyzed. Then Sarah caught the stomach "flu" although it didn't act like any stomach "flu" I have seen. Her GI system got all inflamed and she couldn't keep anything down. eventually she was able to move onto bread and chicken broth. Of course SHE HATES BOTH OF THOSE!!! We eventually got her all cured only to have Meagan catch the flu! 12-13 days of fever. (which just finally broke Friday!) Missing 10 days of school including finals! A special thank you to all her teachers and her guidance counselor for helping us get all those rescheduled and figured out! Meagan did end up with bronchitis. I have never seen her so sick. I am thankful she got the shot because I really hate to think what the outcome could have been oth...

KnK and Creativity Boutique are having a BLOG HOP and here is my Holiday Project

KnK and Creativity Boutique design teams are joining forces for a blog hop! Each design team member will post a handmade holiday gift idea. You won't want to miss it, and rumor has it, there may be a prize involved! The fun starts on the Kreative Kaboodles blog at 9am EST, so if you are starting from my blog be sure to head back to Kreative Kaboodles after leaving a comment on my blog and follow those instructions so you can get your name in for a prize!!!! and now for my holiday project! Today we are going to make this… You will need a stamp image (or multiple images) ink coloring items (pencils or markers or chalk) a frame (I used a dollar store frame) cardstock (I used white and a background color) assorted paper scraps For the first step I took the “mat” out from the frame and traced it onto cardstock and then cut it out to make a mat, saving insides to stamp images on. I then tore the paper scraps into small pieces and glued them onto the mat. I then trimmed any excess paper...

BOY MEETS GIRL

wahoooooo I won! A month or so back Dream Street had a blog contest to name one of their upcoming 2010 lines! and I won! YEAH!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see the line! :D been a long week or 2 here and this really made me smile!

Creativity Boutique and KnK goodies

I have wanted this Wisemen stamp since I saw it in the CHA catalog . (Yep I actually went thru the entire catalog and highlighted stamps I needed! For this card I used I stamped on the Graphic 45 paper and cut out the images. One of my favorite things about KnK and Creativity Boutique, besides the shopping---which I have seem to do alot of ;) , is that I am on both Design Teams. So I get double the fun! I made this wall hanging using KnK's December Kit. The colors are absolutely gorgeous!!!!! The letters here are painteed and then sprinkled with glitter. For another project I did use the marshmellow glimmer mist and yummy!

KnK's December Kit is here!

This kit is simply GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you need it! treat yourself to an early Christmas present!!!!! and be sure to check out all the addons!!!!!

We ave had a very sad week at our household

about a week and a half ago our doggie LOU hurt his back.. we took him in and they gave him a shot as usual....the next night he suddenly seemed to be staggering and having trouble walking by the following morning the hind legs were pretty much paralyzed... we took him in and they thought it could be just swelling or permanent and wanted to watch him over weekend. it never got worse but never got better so they told us to take him home this past Tuesday... it was miserable. he was such an active dog and he absolutely hated a kennel and now to heal he was confined to a kennel. after watching him scout and howling at night because he was lonely we took him to a different vet for a 2nd opinion he was basically never gonna regain use of his hind legs..so we had to make the decission to put him down. Other other doggie Charlie is a little sad and looking for his pal, But we are thankful we still have him to cuddle.

Loving this stamp set!

I loved this Birch Buddies Set from Stampendous that I played with this month for Creativity Boutique. There are so many possibilities with this stamp set!!! I used my Tsukineko Markers and some Stampendous Flock! and of course I am loving the embossing folders. My sizzix is suddenly no longer gathering dust!

Pick of the Patch

Another example of just how lovely the KNK November Kit is!!!! I love the Webster's lettering and the wood pumpkin from Harmonie! One of the Sad things about the grils getting older is that Meagan wasnt quite as excited this year about getting and carving pumpkins. She was still super excited about trick or treating tho as she and the entourage joined Alex and I for trick or treating.

Happy Thanksgiving

I made this mini canvas using the Stretchy Spooks Stamps from Stampendous! available through Creativity Boutique. I provided detailed instructions for KnK members.

Happy Fall

I found another source for stamps. (Insert eye roll here) They got me with the cutest nutcracker stamps (and I think the only nutcracker stamps I have ever seen). So I made this card using one of their stamps sets and papers from KNK's Novmeber Kit! You can get these stamps at Clear Dollar Stamps and the Kit at KNK .

Pilgrims and Indians

I made this Layout using my yummy KNK November Kit . I love love love the colors in this kit!!!! Just let me say my picture of this layout does not do it justice. The glare is hiding the texture of the leaf paper on the background :( . And just wait until you see the December kit!!!! wowsa!!! 2 altered items, a card and a layout so far and still going strong!!!!!

Thank You card and a Sketch

I created this card using the Birch Buddies Set From Stampendous! I added some flock to the animals. Looking at the card now (I hate when I do that) it is missing something. HMMM..wll have to think on that. I am providing the sketch I used for this card so you can play too.

I'm Nuts about You

This month I got to play with the Birch Buddies set from Stampendous ! To create this card I used papers from KNK's October kit . I added some flock to the squirrels. My daughter who has an obsession with squirrels has already claimed this card :D

More U R My Favorite FUN

I made this card for my hubby for our anniversary! Hard to believe we celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary this month!

More KnK Kit creations

Our Pilgrim cookies! Always at hit at Thanksgiving! Fudge Striped cookies placed upside down topped with big marshmallows dipped in melted chocolate chips. Then add a little yellow icing and tada you have pilgrim hats! Alex's class last year loved them. and my nieces and nephew love it when I bring them to Thanksgiving Dinner :D

Nikki Sivils U R My Favorite Fun

I really loved that this paper was so versatile and the colors were a little out of my comfort zone but I loved them. You can pick up all of Nikki's lines at Creativity Boutique

Check out KnK's November Kit

The colors on this Kit are just plain gorgeous!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Here is my First creation.

Long Time no see

Yes believe it or not I am still around! Life has been quite busy. Work has been a zoo. For those that don't know my real job is working for a local health department and the last few months we have been eating, drinking and sleeping H1N1. Not totally fun but totally necessary. Now if we could just get some vaccine in before it is too late. I have been scrapping and creating lots of stampy stuff and lots of Halloween cards.

More October Kit Fun

I made this in honor of Grandparent's Day. I started thinking back on the things I learned from my grandparents (besides the fact that grandma's freezer is always stocked with ice cream ;) ). It is the weekend and Meagan has lots of activities scheduled and my hubby is sick so hoping to sneak in so scrappy time! I woke up with this cool idea and I may try it out.:D

My Prince Charming

I was so excited to get the opportunity to play with the new Nikki Sivils lines for Creativity Boutique. And I admit I was a little nervous as the line was cutesy. But I LOVED my creations with the line! and I have since added a few more of her line into my cart ;)

Happy Fall Thank you card

This card combines two of my favorites...this set of leaves stamps from Creativity Boutique and papers from KnK's February kit. To Create this I actually left the stamps on their packing and inked them up using many different fall ink colors (many being about four since I really don't have that many ;) ) and then place the card on top of the inked images. You can get these stamps here. Hope you enjoy! On a side note HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my hubby! 18 years!!!! (and we dated for 6 years before we got married)~ Chris

Happy Birthday

Happy 15th Birthday Meagan! Hope you have a great fun filled day!

My KnK reveal part 1

I just loved this kit. and really loved this new Bazzill card stock! it was like having extra patterned paper in the kit!!!!!! Here are Alex and Sarah loving on grandmas new kittens!

A day at the Park

My Mom and Dad made great use of a beautiful day and took Sarah and Alex to a local State Park. The Kids had a blast and I am not sure who was more tired the kids or grandma and grandpa :D If you haven't checked out this month's KnK K it you should! I know I say that every month but this kit went together so well and really sparked my creativity!!! I did 3 layouts , a card and a small project in under 2 hours! How is that for inspiration!?!?!?!! I have shown you below the add-on kit!!! way cool. and you need the cardstock add-on!!! which has the new Bazzill embossed cardstock !! And now time for a question.... once in a while I get to help Gerrianne pick out goodies for the kits :D so I want to know what do you look for in a kit? do you like just the basics? do you want a jammed packed kit? do you scrap mainly 2 page layouts? 1 page layouts? and what do you like to see in a kit newsletter?
