Color Blocking with Masking Paper

Welcome crafty stampers to today's Craft Room Therapy.  Today we are going to create this stunning card using color blocking. This is such an easy technique and is so beautiful when finished! For this creation I choose Calypso Coral as my main color and the Sketched Butterflies and Painted Lavender Stamp sets.

Masking Paper
Sketched Butterflies Stamp set
Painted Lavender Stamp Set
Classic Ink - real Red, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight
Memento Ink
Cardstock-  Calypso Coral, Basic White
Blender Brushes

Create your 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card base from Calypso Coral Cardstock. Cut two pieces of Basic White to 4 x 5 1/4 inches. Stamp Painted Lavender stamps on piece with Calypso Coral ink and set aside for card inside.

Trim several 1/4 inch strips from masking paper. Lay out your desired design with masking papers.

Select your inks.  I choose Real Red, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight.
Blend your first color over cardstock.  I usually start with the lightest color first and then work light to dark.

Blend your second color.
Blend your next color.
Stamp your sentiment onto one of your color blocks.
Stamp images from Painted Lavender and Sketched Butterfly Stamp sets onto your remaining blocks.
Gently peel back your masking paper strips to reveal your white spaces.  Adhere to front of our card base and adhere stamped inside to finish your card.

I hope you enjoyed this little Craft Room "Therapy" session!
