Lake Watercolor

Lake WM

Today I am excited to share with you this watercolor card I created with Dare 2 B Artzy Stamps.

To create this card I started out by stamping the dock from the Dare 2B Artzy On the Dock set with Dare 2B Artzy Chocolate Chip ink onto watercolor paper.

I then broke out my Tim Holtz Distress Markers (Old Paper and Frayed Burlap) and added some lines with the brush tip.

You can see it doesn't look fancy just some marker lines.  I then blended the marker lines with my waterbrush. As you can see it blended so pretty.  Just like wood!

I then colored the water on the bottom 1/3 of my card by using my Tim Holtz markers again (Weathered Wood) and a water brush.  This time I colored my marker onto my craft sheet and used the waterbrush to pick up the ink and just "painted on the color.  Remember it doesn't have to be perfect. Watercolors have lots of shades.

I then painted some hills in the back ground using the same technique mixing ink colors from 3 different markers - Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, and Pine Needles.  Remember, you are going for subtle.  Let the ""eye" do the work of putting together the image! You can see its nothing fancy or too perfect below!

I then added painted the sky with my Stormy Sky Tim Holtz Marker and the water brush. I decided that my sky looked to dark so I added a sunset.  I started by adding a sun using the Wild Honey Distress Marker.  I then blended ink from several Distress markers ( Victorian Velvet and Ripe Persimmon) to add the sunset colors.

I Then die cut 3 cattails using the Dare 2B Artzy Cat tail die and Kraft Card stock.  I "colored" the die cuts using my Vintage Photo, Weathered Wood and Shabby Shutters Markers.  You can see what a difference it makes!

I added the cattails in the lower left corner.  I then double-matted the water colored image on the Artzy Doodles paper and added it to my card. I stamped my greeting from the Restore the Soul set with Totally Black ink and matted the greeting on the Artzy Doodles paper. I added a doodled border around my matted piece to finish off my card.

I hope you enjoyed this project!

Sunshine Card Greetings

hellosunshinewm
Hello!  Today I would like to share with you this very summer-y greeting I created with Dare 2B Atrzy Stamps! I started by using the Sunset Yellow Artzy Doodles Paper to create my card base.  I then stamped the fruit slice from the new Flip Flops Stamp set using coordinating Dare 2B Artzy inks!  I stamped my Drink image  and greeting using Dare 2B Artzy's Totally Black ink. I brought my stamp to life using my Spectrum Noir Markers (BT1, BT2, CT1, GB5). I punched out my image and matted the image on another punched piece of Artzy Doodle Bright Pumpkin paper. After adhering the refreshing drink to my card I felt the card needed something more!............... So what's a crafter to do?   I raided our straws and trimmed a straw to fit the card and topped it with a coordinating bow!!!!  I then hand cut the greeting into a banner and added to the card with dimensional tape!   Hope you are inspired to try oout these new stamp sets!!!!

Bird Greetings!

Hello!  Today I am sharing my challenge over at Turtle Soup and this month's Dare 2B Artzy Challenge! This Month's Theme is Animals!!!!! Cindy has so many amazing animal stamps in the store!!!!

I started with this amazing sketch from Bev at Turtle Soup.

I rotated the sketch to fit my needs! and used the sketch as a focal point on my card! (All supplies are Dare 2B Artzy unless otherwise listed!)

I started by using my Birds paper from the In Bloom Paper Pack as my card base.

To create the background I added some coordinating cardstock from my stash.  I stamped the music notes from the Be Yourself Stamp set all over the cardstock using Versamark ink. I added the cutaway border strip from the Blue Sky Arzty Doodles paper and a punched border strip.

To create the card's focal point I matted another piece of the Birds paper onto white cardstock and added jewels from my stash to the corners.   I then stamped my bird from the Be Yourself stamp set and used the Birds die set to die cut the bird.  I used my Copic markers to bring the bird to life. (R22, B21, YR04, Y11).   After adding him to corner of the card I stamped my greeting from the  Bright Birthday stamp set.

So hop on over to Turtle Soup and this month's Dare 2B Artzy Challenge to play along!   Who doesn't love chances to win?!?!
