Chocolate Covered Cherry inspired

ok so for our Scrapbook Heaven crop we choose to pick a "holiday" in January to inspire our challenge. I choose Chocolate Covered Cherry Day, which is January 3rd by the way. I challenged everyone to use colors from the yummy treat-browns, pinky reds, & creamy whites. This was my example!

making music

I created this layout for 2 different challenges... One at Sisterhood of Scrap which was to use all new items (in your stash for less than 3 months) and one for at Scrapbook Heaven to use "trash" on your layout! The trash here is the packaging from Pink Paislee stamps. can you spot it? I used it for the journaling strips...it is this really subtle graph paper pattern. The papers and lettering and snowflake are all from Scrapbook Heaven's December kit.

This layout attempts to show Sarah at her Christmas Concert. She performed in 2 school Choirs and one of the bands. She loves everything music!

Story Time

i loved these pictures when I saw them. I don't have a lot of pictures of my kids with their grandparents seems like we are always taking pictures of the kids and forget to include jim and me and the grandparents. I think we need to change that!!! I did this layout for a challenge at Sisterhood of Scrap! The challenge was to use sometimes soft/fluffy. I choose to hand cut some felt flowers! My challenge for you... take pictures of your kids with your loved ones!

My GDT Challenge for Scrapbook Heaven

For my Guest Designer Challenge at Scrapbook Heaven I choose to do a recipe challenge. I challenge to create a layout according to this recipe. You must include these basic "ingredients" but are
free to add your own Flavorings to the recipe :D

1 photo
3 patterned papers
3 flowers
Ribbon
Bling

and if you are still thinking about getting a SH you had better hurry. The petite is sold out and there is only 1 left of the Elite kits

by the way that is my daughter Sarah and my niece Ashley in that picture! Aren't they adorable???

SCORE!!!!

Can you believe I used the Christmas kit from Scrapbook Heaven to create this layout? I love when a kit has more than one use! I used mini alphas to do my journaling. I really need to get into doing more journaling! But this little bit did the trick ....who what when.... how about you how much journaling do you include... a little? a lot? does it depend on the layout?

Here is the sketch

This is the sketch I started with for yesterday's layout. I have been doing some sketching again so hoping to share those. I did change this sketch to use 2 landscape pictures instead of the 3 portrait pictures. I also moved the title and the journaling around a bit. That's the lovely thing about sketches. you can change them up any way you choose! If you try out this sketch be sure to share!

Nana's Helpers

I was playing around some more with the December kit from Scrapbook Heaven. I loved the fact that is was a Christmas Kit yet not overly Christmas-y. I don't usually make overly themed layouts so this kit was perfect. I made this layout using the flocked Prima paper in the kit! The nice lady with the 2 casts is my grandmother. She fell at the beginning of December and broke both her wrists. So Sarah and Alyssa were more than happy to help her open her packages on Christmas Eve. I have starting trying my hand at layout sketches again. The sketch for this one is posted at Scrapbook Heaven in the forums.
